When the Nike Air Foamposite One Cough Drop first dropped, everybody was sleeping!
Really surprising in my opinion, but for some reason a super clean red and black colorway was being dozed on hard core! I made sure to cop these as to me they seemed like a future classic ranking as one of the best retro colorways since the original Royal Foamposites. These get their nickname from the clear red outsole.
Red and greyish black work well with more direct matches. I recommend a black top and either dark denim or army green/camo pants. The green kind of goes with the foam upper in an odd way and balances off the red.
I’m glad I swooped, as now these are tougher to come by and actually command a decent resale value! Not to mention this colorway is sick! I definitely prefer simpler colorways on this already wild-looking silhouette.
How Are The Materials?
The materials are standard foamposite fare. Posite material covers the bulk of the shoe with suede running around the eyelets. The quality is of course great and the construction is solid. Foamposites like these make great rain beaters in light rain! They’re rugged, thick and clean off easily depending on the colorway. The only thing holding these back from all-weather status is the tongue area which is more breathable.
How Do They Fit?
The Nike Air Foamposite One Cough Drop fits true to size. With foams, the more we wear them, the better they fit, but they’re pretty comfy right off the bat so break-in isn’t really too much of a factor. The tongue is more of an inner-bootie type fit which is snug but comfortable. The only possible downside to these is the weight. However, I personally only rock ’em when I need a heavier shoe so for me it’s a plus.
